South Asia Centre for Missing and Exploited Persons - SACMEP

Human trafficking is the fastest growing form of international crime. Some trafficking groups are reportedly switching their cargo from drugs to humans in search of high profit at low risk.

Oasis India are developing an anti human trafficking initiative, the South Asia Centre for Missing and Exploited Persons, or SACMEP, which is aimed at preventing vulnerable women and children from being trafficked, prosecuting the traffickers and protecting those who have already become victims of this crime.

Mumbai Local Train Map

Riding the local trains is an absolute necessity, all life meets at the station.

Here's a train map to help with your orientation.

Use this in conjunction with the searchable Mumbai streetmap to help navigate around the city.

If you stay long enough, and form regular traveling habits, you may end up with "train pals".

What's new?

It's been a long time since I've written in these pages.  My scribblings had all but stopped on my Live Spaces blog too... But not for long... I'm off writing again... rambling, maybe... insightful, probably not... refusing to give up, definitely and defiantly.  I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet... I hope that day never comes.

So... What is new?

How to get involved...

Ask, Give, Go,

Ask
- Understand and respond to the needs

Ask yourself - How can I respond.  Ask God - You'll pray specifically, perhaps even meet the needs yourself, or as a group.  Simple things we take for granted can make a big difference.

Give - Finances are always required

Oasis India could always do more, if finances would permit.  Give a one off gift or choose to support Oasis India on a monthly basis.  We aim to give you the mechanisms to give online safely and securely (coming soon).

Go - Give yourself

Here's our volunteer pages.  If you're just contemplating or an old hand you'll find something of interest here.
You can be a part of the transformational work of Oasis India and in the process, be transformed yourself.  Your time is the most precious gift... Will you go?
Read the blogs, and the forums... be inspired... share in the life changing mission of Oasis India.

Friends reunited... July 2007

Friends reunited is an amazing website. You can catch up with people you went to school or college with, even old workmates. For Oasis India there is no friends reunited. I went back to Purnata Bhavan (PB) the HIV/AIDS residential care project that so impacted me back in 2004, literally, The House of Wholeness. I went to reunite with friends, workers and beneficiaries.

I’ve got an update for you on 2 very special people, but before I tell you everything, I’ve a few question(s) for you.
